Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about using Agreed for calmer co-parenting.

Getting Started

How do I create an account?

Download Agreed from the App Store or Google Play. Open the app and tap 'Create Account'. Enter your email address and create a password. You'll receive a verification email to confirm your account.

How do I invite my co-parent?

After creating your account, go to Settings and tap 'Invite Co-Parent'. You'll receive a unique invite code to share. Your co-parent downloads the app, creates their account, and enters the invite code to connect with you.

What if my co-parent doesn't want to join?

Agreed works best when both parents participate. However, you can still use the calendar and expense tracking features for your own records. We recommend sharing the app's privacy features with your co-parent—knowing their data is encrypted may help.

Can I use Agreed with multiple co-parents?

Yes. If you have children with different co-parents, you can create separate Family Spaces for each. Each space is completely private and separate from the others.

Messaging

Are my messages private?

Yes. Agreed uses end-to-end encryption for all messages. This means only you and your co-parent can read them. Our servers store encrypted data that we cannot decrypt—not even our employees can read your messages.

How does end-to-end encryption work?

When you set up Agreed, encryption keys are generated on your device. Messages are encrypted before leaving your phone and can only be decrypted by your co-parent's device. The encryption keys never leave your devices, so no one else—including us—can read your messages.

Can I share photos and documents?

Yes. You can share photos, PDFs, and other documents through messages. All attachments are also end-to-end encrypted, just like your text messages.

How long are messages stored?

Messages are stored as long as your account is active. You can delete individual messages at any time. If you delete your account, all your messages are permanently removed after a brief retention period.

Can I export my message history?

Yes. Go to Settings > Activity Reports to generate a PDF of your message history. You can choose date ranges and detail levels. Reports are generated on your device and include your decrypted messages.

Calendar & Scheduling

How do I set up a custody schedule?

Go to the Calendar tab and tap 'Add Schedule'. You can set up recurring patterns (like alternating weeks) or create individual events. Both parents see the same schedule and receive reminders.

Can I sync with my phone's calendar?

Yes. Go to Settings > Calendar Sync to connect Agreed with your device's calendar. Events will appear in your regular calendar app alongside your other appointments.

How do handover reminders work?

When you create a custody schedule, Agreed can send reminders before each handover. You choose how far in advance to be notified. Both parents receive reminders to help ensure smooth transitions.

What if we need to swap days?

Use the messaging feature to discuss schedule changes with your co-parent. Once agreed, either parent can update the calendar. Both parents will see the change and can add notes if needed.

Expenses

How does expense tracking work?

Add expenses in the Expenses tab. Enter the amount, category (medical, education, activities, etc.), and add a receipt photo if you have one. Your co-parent will see the expense and can approve or discuss it.

Can I attach receipts to expenses?

Yes. When adding an expense, tap the camera icon to photograph a receipt or select an image from your gallery. Receipt images are stored securely with your expense records.

How do we split costs?

Agreed tracks expenses and shows running totals for each parent. You set your split ratio (50/50, 60/40, etc.) in Settings. The app calculates who owes what, but actual payments happen outside the app.

Can I export expense reports?

Yes. Go to Settings > Activity Reports and select 'Expenses'. You can generate PDF reports for any date range, which include amounts, categories, and receipt images if attached.

Privacy & Security

What can Agreed employees see?

We cannot see your message content, photos, or any encrypted data. We can see account information (email, name), message timestamps, and calendar events—but not the details of your communications. See our Transparency Report for the full breakdown.

How is my data protected?

Your data is protected with multiple layers: end-to-end encryption for messages and photos, TLS encryption for all data in transit, and AES-256 encryption for data at rest. We also support biometric authentication and automatic session timeouts.

Do you use my data for advertising?

No. We never sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for marketing purposes. Agreed is funded by subscriptions, not by monetizing your personal information.

Can I delete my account and data?

Yes. Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and all associated data. This action cannot be undone, and encrypted data cannot be recovered.

Account

How do I change my password?

Go to Settings > Account > Change Password. You'll need to enter your current password and then create a new one. For security, you'll be logged out of other devices.

How do I update my profile?

Go to Settings > Profile. You can update your display name, profile photo, and contact preferences. Changes are visible to your co-parent immediately.

How do I enable two-factor authentication?

Go to Settings > Security > Two-Factor Authentication. You'll set up an authenticator app (like Google Authenticator) to generate codes. Once enabled, you'll need both your password and a code to log in.
